Roberto D. Ampil, Ph.D. is a full professor at the College of Education handling Filipino general education and major courses. He also teaches at the Faculty of Arts and Letters. He obtained his Ph.D. in Filipino from the Philippine Normal University-Manila as a CHED scholar. Dr. Ampil has lectured on discourse analysis, film analysis and Filipino language and culture in numerous local and international conferences. He also served as Chairperson of the Department of Filipino from 2010-2015. Dr. Ampil was honored by the Division of City Schools-Manila and KAGUFIL with the Most Outstanding Teacher Award in 2001 and won 3rd place in Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) Gawad Collantes National Essay Contest of the same year. He is an author and coordinator-editor of various high school and college textbooks.
