UST opens in-house accounting center

The University of Santo Tomas recently opened the UST-Alfredo M. Velayo Accountancy Center, an in-house unit that delivers actual accounting services to clients. Since May 2018, the Center has served small businesses and members of the Thomasian Community while enhancing the competencies of students. The Accountancy Center serves as an avenue for the students to apply the knowledge they have acquired inside the classroom in real life. Students enrolled in Synthesis will be required to render duty hours in the Center.

Among the services the Center offers are bookkeeping, taxation, start-up assistance, and Feasibility Studies. To avail of the Center’s services, interested parties may send an e-mail via uaacenter@gmail.com.

In the old Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order, Accountancy schools have the option to offer research, internship, or both. To ensure that the students gain a holistic experience, UST provides both.
