Asst. Prof. Amur M. Asuncion, Ed.D. is a faculty member of the Department of Filipino. She obtained her Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Filipino from the Philippine Normal University in 1995, her Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from the Central Colleges of the Philippines in 2000, and her Doctor of Education, Major in Educational Management Degree from the Arellano University. She has published a number of textbooks in Filipino, both in the Tertiary and Senior High School levels. The most recent is entitled “Tan-aw II: Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik” by Abiva Publishing, Inc. Her research entitled “Doon at dito, ganoon o ganito: Isang paggalugad sa pananaw ng guro hinggil sa kanyang papel sa pagtuturo ng akademikong Filipino sa antas teryarya” published in Luz Y Saber was also given recognition by the Letran Research Center in 2016. She was also the Supervising Teacher for Filipino at the Education High School, the laboratory school of the College of Education.
