ANGELES, Mark Anthony S.

Mark Anthony Angeles, MA, LPT teaches Filipino, Pamamahayag sa Filipino, and Multimedia Storytelling. He received his master’s degree in Filipino: Creative Writing from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

In 2013, he became the writer-in-residence of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, USA. A multi-awarded poet, fictionist, and essayist, his books include Kuwento ng Dalawang Lungsod (2018), a Filipino translation of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities, published by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. The University of the Philippines Press published his book Ang Huling Emotero (2021), a collection of 144 dagli and a critical paper that traces the history of the said traditional form in the country.

He is a council member of UST Sentro sa Salin at Araling Salin, resident fellow of UST Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies, college correspondent of UST Academia, and adviser of UST Mediartrix.
