Full Professor Allan B. de Guzman, PhD of the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSEd) was appointed Co-Editor of the prestigious Educational Gerontology journal, a Scopus Q2 journal, succeeding Nieli Langer of the College of New Rochelle, United States of America. De Guzman is joined by Bernhard Schmidt-Hertha of the University of Tübingen, Germany, and will serve from May 2021 until December 2025. Prior to this appointment, de Guzman has been serving as an international advisory board member since 2009.
A prolific researcher, de Guzman is a gerontologist who leads the Educational Gerontology Research Interest Group in RCSSEd. He handles research courses at the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Graduate School, and was Dean of the College of Education from 2015-2018.
Educational Gerontology is an ISI-listed journal published by Routledge: Taylor and Francis. Issued as a monthly publication, the journal features novel and up-to-date research in the fields of gerontology, adult education, and the social and behavioral sciences; and is recognized as a valuable educational resource in gerontology not only for students and educational professionals, but also for healthcare providers and trainers. The journal covers various areas such as art, music, social work, architecture and interior design, physical and occupational therapies, family relations, religion, and spirituality, among others.
