Vouching Tigers of Accountancy win championship in audit case tournament

“Vouching Tigers” of the UST Alfredo M. Velayo – College of Accountancy emerged as champions in The 4th Audit Case Tournament: A Series of Unfortunate Cases, held last January 14 -15, 2017 at Deloitte, Main Office. The team was composed by three 5th-year BS Accountancy students, namely Ray Jay Dizon, Cara Janela Lorenzo, and Marc Leuvill Villaverde.

The competition was organized by Deloitte Navarro Amper & Co., NFJPIA-NCR, and UP-JPIA and was open to all Accountancy students nationwide. Twenty teams advanced to the semi-finals after an online qualifying round. Then, after working on a simulated audit case regarding Payables and Expenditures, ten teams were selected to continue to the finals.

The final round required the finalists to come up with a paper and a presentation regarding a case on business combination.

The UST-AMV team (Vouching Tigers) bested other teams in the competition. Team Finest of Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila came in as first runner-up, followed by team DLSU F3 of De La Salle University – Manila as second runner-up.”
