UST, Huawei Technologies sign MoA for certifications, equipment, training

On March 2, 2020, the University of Santo Tomas and Huawei Technologies Phils., Inc. formalized its partnership with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement that will make UST a beneficiary of the Huawei Authorized Information Network Academy (HAINA), a program that authorizes universities and colleges to deliver Huawei certification courses.

According to the agreement, Huawei will donate select HAINA certification programs, equipment, and materials and provide free training to UST, which will in turn be appointed as a HAINA Certified Academy that will provide training and certification.

The donation covers the equipment for the HCIA storage module, training of the trainers from UST by Huawei consultants, as well as 100 certification / testing vouchers. Within UST, there will be a classroom dedicated as a Huawei laboratory for the said trainings.

UST and Huawei officials sign the Memorandum of Agreement

The agreement was the result of combined efforts of the Faculty of Engineering and the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences. On hand to witness the signing were University officials led by Prof. Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Engineering Dean Philipina A. Marcelo, PhD, and Information and Computing Sciences Director Jerralyn T. Padua, MS. Leading the Huawei Technologies Phils. contingent were Mr. Li Gwudong, Service Director, and Mr. Lim Seow Boon, Channel Service Manager.
