Officials of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital recently completed their three-day strategic planning, from July 14-16, 2021, in order to craft plans and projects that will enliven its strategic directional areas.
The five-point strategic directional areas, known by the acronym HEART, targets five priorities: High Level of Multidisciplinary Health Care Service; Exemplary Education, Training, and Research; Appropriate Resource Management; Responsive Leadership and Governance; and Thomasian Identity.
According to UST Hospital officials, led by CEO fr. Julius Paul C. Factora, O.P., JCD, the public can soon expect the operationalization of the new St. John Paul II Building by the first quarter of 2022. Side by side with this is the opening of ancillary services equipped with the latest machines and equipment. The Hospital is also acquiring updated technologies and systems for the support services.
Part of the goal is to also apply for international hospital accreditation, which will provide the stamp of excellence that puts USTH at par with international counterparts.
The three-day strategic planning was presided over by fr. Factora, who was joined by Medical Director Dr. Charito Malong-Consolacion, Assistant Medical Director Dr. Julius Caesar Dalupang, Director for Finance fr. Roman Santos, O.P., Director for Administration Analin Empaynado-Porto, DEM, Department of Medical Education and Research Chair Dr. Ma. Piedad Rosales-Natividad, Nursing Service Office Head Aleli Cabaneros, and Quality Management Office Head Dr. Florian Nuevo.
