UST enters Times Higher Education World Rankings at 1501+ bracket, is country’s #3

With stronger research productivity and with an even stronger international outlook, the University of Santo Tomas broke into the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the 2024 edition, released on September 28, 2023.

According to the University profile on Times Higher Education, international outlook (which includes international staff, students, and research) was its strongest indicator, at 67.0, followed by research quality (25.8, which includes citation impact, research strength, research excellence, and research influence), and industry (20.7, income and patents).

A total of 1,904 universities from 108 countries and regions comprise the 2024 rankings, the 20th edition for THE. Over 68,000 scholars were surveyed globally about the ranked research-intensive universities.

UST shares the bracket with De La Salle University and follows Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines, which are in the 1001-1200 and 1201-1500 brackets, respectively. Ten other Philippine universities, mostly state universities, have Reporter status.
