Last April 7, 2018 (Saturday), the University of Santo Tomas renewed its partnership with Naga City’s Center for Health and Nutrition, Parent Advocates for Visually Impaired Children, and Universidad de Sta. Isabel, to continue efforts in community-based rehabilitation.
According to the agreement, UST will provide certificate-course trainings for community-based rehabilitation. The agreement requires UST to help the partner understand the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and role of various stakeholders; to provide screening, referral, and follow-up services for PWDs; to provide community health and rehabilitation planning, intervention, and monitoring; and trainers’ training on CBR. UST likewise provides referral services and acts as a conduit between Naga City and medical groups.
The agreement will run for another three years, with the College of Rehabilitation Sciences as lead and the Simbahayan Community Development Office as support units, respectively..
