Engr. Glenn C. Virrey is an alumnus of the Technological University of the Philippines, earning his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering in March 2017. He was a full-time faculty member in the Electronics Engineering Department at the same university from 2020 to 2023. He is a full-time academic staff member of the Electronics Engineering Department at the University of Santo Tomas – Faculty of Engineering and is currently serving as the ECE Laboratory Supervisor. He was appointed as well as the Faculty’s Pedagogical Lead from 2023 to 2025. He mostly teaches professional courses related to electronics and elective courses in Microelectronics. He earned his Master of Science in Electronics Engineering, majoring in Microelectronics at Mapua University last September 2022. He had his early career years in the corporate industry as a Failure Analysis Engineer and Supplier Quality Engineer at Amkor Technology, Philippines, Inc. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IECEP), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Young Professionals Society, and the IEEE Control Systems Society (IEEE-CSS). He is also an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines. He also served as the Lead Coordinator of the Contest Committee of the IEEE Region 10 Student Activities Committee. He is serving as one of the advisers of the Network of Electronics Engineering Students of the UST ECE Department. He authored and co-authored several published research papers and presented at conferences from 2020 to date. He also conducted talks at different universities and events about the Microelectronics field. His interests in the ECE field include semiconductor manufacturing and engineering, IC design and layout, smart agricultural technology, biomedical engineering, and wireless network and sensor systems.
