RAMOS, Maria Cristina R.

Maria Cristina Romero Ramos is an accomplished scholar and academic with an extensive background in Chemistry. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, which she earned from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in September 2005. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the same institution in March 1989,  followed by a Master of Science in Chemistry in March 1996. 

Currently, she serves as Professor III at the University of Santo Tomas in the College of Science.  Her dedication to the academic community extends beyond her role as a professor, as she has actively engaged with numerous academic organizations. She is a member of the Philippine  Association of Chemistry Teachers (PACT), the Philippine Association for the Advancement of  Science (PHILAAS), the Philippine Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Organization  (PSBMB), and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). 

Dr. Ramos’s research contributions are noteworthy, as evidenced by her extensive list of publications. Her work covers a diverse range of topics, from cancer biomarker discovery to genetic polymorphisms and advanced spectroscopy techniques. Some of her notable publications include research on breast cancer, molecular analyses of plant species, and the modulation of cell signaling pathways. Her research continues to make a significant impact on the fields of chemistry and biology, cementing her reputation as an influential figure in academia.
