PASAMONTE, Nelson M.

Engr. Pasamonte received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila Philippines in 1980 and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological University of the Philippines Manila, Philippines in 2015. He served as the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Supervisor from 1985-2000, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 2015-2016, and the Chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2000-2009, 2010-2015, and 2016 until the present. He is a Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME), ASEAN Engineer, a past president of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) – NCR Academe Chapter, and an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He was a recipient of The Outstanding Mechanical Engineer (TOME) award in the field of Education and was given the title “Fellow” by the PSME. He is also a member of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Committee in Mechanical Engineering, a program evaluator for the BSME program of the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), and a part of the Technical Committee in the revision of the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Code. His field of interests are in Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR), Power Plant Engineering, and Energy Engineering.
