NATIVIDAD, Porshia C.

Assistant Professor Porshia B. Comes-Natividad received her Bachelor of Science in BiologyAccelerated and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Science in 1993 and the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (FMS) in 1997, respectively. She finished her residency training in Internal Medicine in 2002 and fellowship training in Nephrology in 2004 at the UST Hospital. She is a Diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) and the Philippine Society of Nephrology (PSN). She is a consultant of Internal Medicine-Nephrology at UST Hospital, Hospital of the Infant Jesus, and Novaliches General Hospital. She is the present Chief of the Section of Nephrology of the Department of Medicine at the UST-FMS.

She authored the chapters on fluid and electrolyte disorders and urinary tract infection in the recently published The PCP Textbook of Internal Medicine.

  • Association of Malnutrition and Quality of Life of Hemodialysis Patients at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. Malnutrition is among the most prominent factors affecting Quality of life (QOL). Using a reliable screening tool reduces the risk of malnutrition, and treatment in early stages improves the hemodialysis patients’ QOL.
