Associate Professor Bien Jebunan Matawaran, MD, FPCP, FPSEDM, holds the distinguished position of Associate Professor 5 in the Departments of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Nutrition, and Medicine at UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. Renowned for his leadership, he serves as the Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Nutrition and Chief of the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at UST Hospital. His administrative prowess extends to being the Chairman of the Committee on Clinical Subspecialty and Affiliate Societies at the Philippine College of Physicians, showcasing his commitment to medical education and healthcare. Dr. Matawaran is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist and a fellowship-trained endocrinologist, holding awards such as the Young Investigator Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Leadership Award from the University of Santo Tomas Fellows’ Graduation.
