Lorico DS. Lapitan Jr. obtained his BS (2007) and MSci (2010, Cum Laude) Degree in Chemistry from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and PhD from University of Leeds, United Kingdom (2019). He conducted his master’s research at the Electrified Interfaces Laboratory at the National Central University in Taiwan (2009). He was a recipient of international research internships in Japan (2011) and Taiwan (2014) under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Taiwan International Graduate program- International Internship Program (TIGP-IIP) programs, respectively. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Warsaw University of Technology. Particularly, he works for Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT. His research interests involve the development of electrochemical and optical biosensors for label-free techniques, early diagnostics of cancer, and determination/detection of biomarkers. His research has recently focused on surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based biosensors on developing novel strategies for early cancer diagnostics.
