DASAS, Louie B.

Asst. Prof. Louie B. Dasas, LPT, Ph.D., is well-experienced in instructional planning and design as an author and content editor for science textbooks for various grade levels. He also serves as a speaker and educational consultant for several areas of education, such as curriculum and instruction, assessment, professional development, program evaluation, and STEM education. Dr. Dasas was a DepEd-PEAC National Trainer and a CHED National STEM Adviser. He serves as the National Secretary of the Biology Teachers Association of the Philippines (BIOTA) National Governing Board and an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines. As a researcher, Louie is interested in curriculum implementation, curriculum studies, teacher agency in curriculum-making, argument-driven inquiry, science education, and STEM education.

Dr. Dasas was the inaugural STEM Chair of the UST Senior High School and a Supervising Teacher for Science at the UST Education High School. At present, he is the Pedagogical Lead and Assistant Dean of the University of Santo Tomas College of Education. Concurrently, he is a Center for Innovative Teaching and Educational Delivery core facilitator and the project lead of the Certificate in Science Teaching program of the College of Education in collaboration with DepEd Pasig. He is also involved in several development projects, such as Project Future with IDEO Shanghai, STEM Collab with Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), and evaluation projects with the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST SEI).
