ASUNCION, Vivian D.

Ms. Vivian Dayrit-Asuncion is a holder of Master’s Degree in Medical Technology and is currently serving as one of the academic staff under the Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas. She handles Medical Technology Interns as clinical faculty and teaches Clinical Chemistry 1 and 2. She is a co-author of a published worktext in Clinical Chemistry entitled: Worktext in Clinical Chemistry I and II. She had been a member of the board of Trustees of the Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association, Inc for the past eight years now. She was elected as Vice President for Scholarship and then as VP-Internal at the present time.

Ms. Asuncion had served the Faculty of Pharmacy as Library Coordinator and later was appointed as Internship Coordinator. She had an experience to work as a Med. Tech. Staff at the UST, Out Patient Department Laboratory. She had the opportunity to be an exchange student in the United States of America and had her post graduate training at St. Mary Medical Center, Gary, Indiana, USA. She was accepted to work as Med. Tech. staff in Clinical Chemistry in the same institution after she passed the registry examination for Medical Technologist, American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP). She transferred to New Jersey, USA and worked at Barnert Medical Center for one and a half year before she returned to the Philippines and went back to teaching at the University of Santo Tomas.
