Three BS Biology, major in Medical Biology students of the College of Science brought honor to the University of Santo Tomas by emerging as Champions in the nationwide 10th National Intercollegiate Genetics Quiz Bee of the University of the Philippines – Los Baños.
Von Nivo O. de Leon, Joe Anthony H. Manzano, and Jemillano C. Ordoñez, Jr., who were under the mentorship of Mr. Russell Evan Venturina, MSc and Mr. Irvin Rondolo, MSc, brought home the top prize for UST after besting teams from Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Batangas State University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, De La Salle University Dasmariñas, Pangasinan State University, Silliman University, University of Eastern Philippines, University of San Carlos, University of the Philippines-Manila, Visayas State University, and Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan.
