GS Law academic staff, alumni suit up in different Legal Education Board Committees

UST Graduate School of Law academic staff and alumni were tapped as Subject Matter Experts for Legal Education Board’s (LEB) curriculum Mapping and PQF Level 8 Alignment Activity.

UST Graduate School of Law Dean Atty. Jacqueline O. Lopez-Kaw, DCL, and Atty. Kristy Jane M. Balino, DCL, handled Labor Law Courses. Atty. Irene D. Valones, DCL, handled Political Law Courses, while Atty. Allesandra Fay V. Albarico, DCL, handled Civil Law Courses. Dean Brian Jay Corpuz handled Remedial Law Courses. Program courses. Atty. Glen R. Luansing, RN, DCL, PDSML, GS Law’s Thesis and Dissertation Supervisor, will be a technical expert in the newly established Education Development Unit (LEDU), which was formed to serve as a structured support mechanism for Legal Education Institutions and ensure alignment with national educational policies and standards. Lastly, Atty. Ariel D. Valones, a DCL Student, handled Clinical Legal Education.

The Thomasian legal experts were tasked to lead, craft, and refine the Revised Model Law Curriculum (RMLC) Course Outcomes, which are aligned with PQF Level 8 descriptors; actively engage in guided workshops in finalizing Juris Doctor Program outcomes, essential Competencies, and Course Outcomes; and map subject-level learning outcomes to program outcomes and PQF Descriptors.

LEB is an independent government agency responsible for regulating legal education in the Philippines. The agency was created on December 23, 1993, through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7662 or the Legal Education Act of 1993.
