Graduate students participate in Asia-Pacific Youth Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship

As an offshoot of the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School (USTGS) Taiwan academic tour held in May 2018, three graduate students represented the USTGS in the Asia-Pacific Youth Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship held in Taipei, Taiwan from October 4 to 6, 2018.

Graduate students Wheina Camille Padilla and Lovely Guerra from the Master of Business Administration program and Nino Martin Obrero from the doctorate program major in Commerce, were also the country’s delegates to the forum.

The Youth Forum was aimed at enhancing capacity building through the transfer and development of knowledge, skills and technical know-how among young and experienced entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs-to-be from various countries in the Asia-Pacific.

The agenda included academia and public sector support, female entrepreneurship, cultural and industry tour, practice and operation, workshops and experience sharing. The forum was sponsored by APEC in partnership with Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and National Taipei University of Technology.

The USTGS Taiwan academic tour held in May was headed by the Business Cluster Program Head Dr. Elizabeth O. Recio. It led to building a link with the Manila Economic Development Office in Taiwan. Overall, Padilla, Guerra and Obrero were able to bring home new knowledge about digital innovation and entrepreneurship, which they are expected to share with their fellow graduate students.
