Rev. Fr. Jannel N. Abogado, OP, DTPS, Director of the Center for Religious Studies and Ethics and Regent of UST Junior High School, was elected Coordinator of Regents of Studies of the Order of Preachers for Asia and the Pacific Region in the meeting of the Regents held in UST last February 7-9, 2017.
Part of the work of the coordinator is to organize the regional meetings of the Regents and to assist the Socius for Intellectual Life of the Order of Preachers in coordinating with the other Regents of Studies in the region concerning the intellectual formation and ministry of Dominican friars.
His term of office is for six years. As coordinator of the Regents for the region, Fr. Abogado also serves as a member of the Permanent Commission for the Promotion of Study of the Order of Preachers based in the Curia Generalizia of the Order of Preachers in Santa Sabina, Rome, Italy.
