Last August 9, 2018 (Thursday), the College of Education and the Junior High School welcomed ten (10) students from Indonesia and Thailand for the Southeast Asia Teacher (SEA Teacher) immersion program.

Dwita Darmawati and Tri Dieni Utami (Universitas Islam Kalimantan)
Uun Baramastiwi and Insan Faisal (Universitas Mercu Buana)
Patcha Jankum and Anchaleeporn Pajalearn (Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University)
The students will have their practicum in UST JHS from August 10 to September 5, 2018. They comprise the sixth batch of the SEA Teacher project.
The SEA Teacher program is an initiative of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), specifically for Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia. The project is based on the SEAMEO’s seven priority areas, specifically “Revitalizing Teacher Education.” The program began in 2015, with Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam as the first countries. The Philippines became the fourth country to join the program, 2016.
The project aims to “1. enable pre-service student teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy; 2. encourage the pre-service student teachers to practice their English skills; and 3. allow the pre-service student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view.”
