UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy faculty member Asst. Prof. Antonio J. Dayag, Ph.D., was named the 2020 Outstanding Certified Public Accountant in Education by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The awarding ceremony took place on November 26, 2020, during the 75th PICPA Annual National Convention held online.
A multi-awarded professional, Dayag has contributed immensely to the practice of the accountancy profession as an educator, administrator, book author, reviewer, speaker, visiting scholar, and an active and dynamic promoter and supporter of the various activities and advocacies of the professional organizations in his field, locally and internationally.
Dayag, who completed his education in UST, from Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy to Master’s in Business Administration up to his Doctorate in Philosophy in Commerce, once served as the University’s Chief Accountant from 1999 to 2005. He currently teaches Cost Accounting & Management Advisory Services at the University.
In addition to teaching, Dayag has co-authored books in Cost Accounting and authored “CPA Reviewer in Practical Accounting 2” and “Advanced Financial Accounting & Reporting.”
He was awarded by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants the “First PICPA Award for Accountancy Authors” in December 2018.
