BSBA Business Economics student featured on Mornings @ ANC

Royce Christopher A. Aguilar, a fourth year student under the BSBA Business Economics program of the College of Commerce and Business Administration, was featured at Mornings @ ANC on October 12, 2016. He was asked to evaluate, from the point of view of a Business Economics student, the first 100 days of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s administration. The segment was hosted by Mr. TJ Manotoc, and Aguilar was interviewed along with Rep. Jose Maria Clemente “Joey” Salceda of the 2nd District of Albay.

Aguilar, the vice-president for External Affairs of the Junior Philippine Economics Society, highlighted the changes happening in the country under the new administration, true to the speeches that Pres. Duterte gave during the campaign period. Aguilar, however, noted that the effectivity of changes in terms of policies takes time to realize. He emphasized that the current administration is making a correction on spending from the previous administration by spending more on infrastructures. Despite this, the agricultural sector is still included in the President’s economic agenda. Tax reforms are also on the way, though benefits are focused on the middle class.
