American Society of Microbiology recognizes UST Microbiology Society as International Student Chapter

The UST College of Science “Microbiology Society” was recently recognized by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) as one of their International Student Chapters in the Philippines. With this, ASM will award the Microbiology Society an official plaque of recognition.

The American Society for Microbiology is the largest single life science society, composed of over 50,000 scientists and health professionals around the world. The mission of ASM is to promote and advance the microbial sciences and to facilitate international collaborations between institutions.

Being a recognized student chapter of ASM, Microbiology Society will receive chapter benefits such as opportunities for financial support of planned activities, networking with sister chapters throughout the country and with international students, faculty and clinical laboratories for further interactions as well as mentorship in leadership skills, K-12 engagement to name a few.
