Acta Manilana, Kritike, Philippiniana Sacra receive CHED journal recognition

In separate memoranda, the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), through its Journal Accreditation Services (JAS), gave the prestigious Category A-2 ranking to three research journals in the University. The Philippiniana Sacra, the official publication of the Ecclesiastical Faculties of the University, was granted Category A-2 status in 2014, and this will be effective until 2016, per CHEd CMO No. 23, series of 2014.

Meanwhile, the Acta Manilana, the official publication of the Research Center for the Natural and Applied Sciences, and the KRITIKE: An Online Journal of Philosophy, the official publication of the Department of Philosophy, were elevated to Category A-2 last May 28, 2015, per CHEd CMO No. 22, series of 2015. The validity of the recognition is until 2017.

Category A-2 means the journals received a score within the range of 85-100, recognizing them as reputable and of international caliber, based on evaluation by CHEd experts. Journals classified in Category A are entitled to receive financial incentives from the CHEd, amounting to P200,000 per year covered by the accreditation.
