UST Strengthens UK Academic Ties at British Embassy and Council Cultural Event

The University of Santo Tomas (UST), through its Office of International Relations and Programs (OIRP) and the Graduate School of Law, proudly took part in the event “UK-Philippine Cultural Connections,” hosted by the British Embassy Manila and the British Council on July 15, 2025.

During the event, Dr. Karen Santiago, Associate Director of OIRP, engaged in a dialogue with British Ambassador Laure Beaufils, highlighting the University’s ongoing internationalization efforts — particularly its successful Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships with the University of Leeds and the University of Reading.

Meanwhile, Dean Jacqueline Lopez Kaw is actively pursuing potential academic collaborations between the UST Graduate School of Law and the University of Leeds School of Law, with initial plans to co-organize webinars, thematic forums, and other online academic engagements.

UST also reaffirmed its support for the British Embassy Manila, especially during its current leadership transition, and expressed commitment to further strengthening its ties with UK institutions in support of international education and academic exchange.
