The University of Santo Tomas bagged 10 excellence awards and 21 merit awards in the 11th Philippine Student Quill Awards, earning a finalist spot in the “School of the Year” awards. The event was organized by the International Association of Business Communication – Philippines. The awarding ceremony was held on August 27, 2025, at the Manila Hotel.
The Tiger Media Network of the Communications Bureau received three excellence awards and ten merit awards.

The Varsitarian, UST’s official student publication, bagged three Awards of Excellence and three merit awards.
The official publication of the Faculty of Arts and Letters, The Flame, received one excellence and one merit award. At the same time, TomasinoWeb also received two merit awards, and TOMCAT – UST bagged an Award of Excellence and two Awards of Merit.
Meanwhile, the Department of Communication’s BA Communication students won one Excellence Award and three Merit Awards.
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Faye Martel-Abugan, M.A. received a merit award for her entry entitled “CommTV: Bridging Theory,” under Division 3: Communication, Training, and Education – Category 19. Faculty of Medicine and Surgery’s “Honora Medicum: 150th anniversary coffee table book” of the UST” also bagged recognition in the professional category.
The Philippine Student Quill Awards was the student division of the Philippines Quill Awards, the country’s most prestigious event celebrating its 21st year in recognizing reputable organizations and corporations nationwide that produce exemplary communication research, programs, skills, and creative work.
IABC vetted the entries through its global standards that measure the brightest and the sharpest in the communication industry.
