UST Microbiology Society wins 2025 ASM Student Chapter Excellence Award

The College of Science’s Microbiology Society was honored with the 2025 American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Student Chapter Excellence Award.

The award was given in recognition of the outstanding performance and contributions of student chapters within the American Society for Microbiology, highlighting their excellence within the community and field of microbiology.

A recognized student chapter of ASM since 2017, Microbiology Society has been a recipient of its chapter benefits, experiencing opportunities for financial support of planned activities, networking with sister chapters throughout the country and with international students, faculty and clinical laboratories for further interactions, as well as mentorship in leadership skills, to name a few.

The ASM is the largest single life science society, comprising over 50,000 scientists and health professionals worldwide. Its mission is to promote and advance the microbial sciences and to facilitate international collaborations between institutions.
