The UST Junior Male Woodpushers claimed their first gold in the UAAP Season 88 Juniors’ Chess tournament on October 19, 2025, at the Adamson University Gym.
They took down the De La Salle Zobel Junior Woodpushers, 3-1, to claim the crown.
Moreover, this feat saw UST dethrone the Far Eastern University-Diliman from the pedestal, ending their three-year reign.
Gabriel Paradero was named the MVP and clinched the silver medal in Board 1. King Lanz Pamplona claimed two silvers for Boards 2 and 6. John Borce captured the gold medal in Board 3. In Board 4, Jian Rivera won the silver medal. Lastly, Jude Dableo won the silver in Board 5.
They now share a double gold achievement in the juniors’ division with their girls’ counterpart.
Their head coach was Ronald Dableo.
