The UST Junior Female Woodpushers mined the UAAP Season 88 Juniors’ Chess tournament and captured their first gold on October 19, 2025, at the Adamson University Gym.
Daren de la Cruz earned the bronze medal in Board 1, while Trina Temple won the gold medal in Board 2.
Angel Po and Iana Sotaridona also won the gold medal in Board 3 and Board 4, respectively.
Kara Meneses dominated Board 5 and snagged a gold of her own. Lastly, Mecel Gadut captured the bronze medal in Board 6.
They now share a double gold achievement in the juniors’ division with their counterpart.
UST head coach Ronald Dableo guided the team to victory.
