The University of Santo Tomas hosted the National Capital Region Registrars Association (NACSRA) held the 2025 Conference on October 23, 2025, at the Grand Ballroom of the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. (BGPOP) Building.




The event brought together Registrars, Assistant Registrars, Admission Officers, and Liaison Officers across the region.
The conference aimed to achieve several key objectives, including updating members on new CHED initiatives, understanding current Data Privacy Act (DPA) regulations, enhancing cybersecurity knowledge for school records, and discussing common data protection challenges.
The participants benefited from a roster of distinguished speakers who provided vital updates and expert insights.
Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE, Officer-in-Charge of CHED-NCR, delivered crucial
updates on recent developments in education policies and key CHED reforms.
Mr. Jonathan Rudolph Y. Ragsag of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) kept attendees abreast of the latest regulations and technical standards related to the Data Privacy Act.
Ms. Sharon So, Vice-Representative of the NPC Data Privacy Council – Education Sector,
discussed common issues and practical approaches to data protection, specifically within the academic environment.
A National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) representative provided essential knowledge on cybersecurity threats and best practices to safeguard sensitive school records.
Beyond the insightful technical sessions, the conference served as an invaluable platform for collaboration.
It successfully met its goal of strengthening camaraderie, allowing attendees to network, share best practices, and build a more robust professional community dedicated to protecting student data.
This year’s conference focused on the critical theme, “Data Protection by Design: Towards Effective Records Management”.
