The Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering are hosting the two-week visit of a Fulbright Visiting Professor from Utah State University, Assoc. Prof. Brian A. Nummer, PhD, a food safety specialist. His stint with UST is jointly funded by the University and the US Department of State through the “Fulbright Specialists Program”.
Nummer, a professor in USU since 2005, is arriving for UST’s initiatives on Technopreneurship in its Engineering and food safety-related programs. His Fulbright Grant covers a total of six-week engagement in UST, which includes this initial two-week visit.
The Fulbright Specialist will conduct a two-day training on Teaching Entrepreneurship, citing best practices in food entrepreneurship, and conduct a seminar on food safety.
Nummer will meet with officials from UST’s International Relations and Programs office, as well as Departments of Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Food Technology. He will likewise meet Resident Researchers from the Research Center on the Natural and Applied Sciences.
