UST GS, National Chengchi University hold join webinar on geopolitical research

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Graduate School and the National Chengchi University (NCCU) International Doctoral Program in Asia Pacific Studies (IDAS) held a joint webinar on “ Geopolitical Field Researches: Peace Study Series”, a Political Science Forum on October 1, 2022, via Zoom.

The invocation and welcome remarks were delivered by the Regent of the UST Graduate School, Rev. Fr. Rodel E. Aligan, O.P., S.Th.D, while IDAS Director Prof. Dr. Chung-Min Tsai gave the opening message, which was followed by the opening remarks of UST Graduate School Program Lead of Political Science, Prof. Belén L. Tangco, O.P., Ph.D.

The event featured the following research presentations – Evolving the Networks of Socio-Political Advocacy by Asst. Prof. Ronald Castillo; ASEAN’s Governance Context and the Prospect of a Participatory Regional Climate Change Cooperation by Ms. Virge Salazar; Old and Frail: Identifying Villages with Primary Care Shortages in an Aging Society by Mr. Tsanyu Kuo; My Journey into the Social Sciences by Mr. Andrew Timothy Yi; and Libraries as Agents of Defense and Peace: Responses to 2022 Russia-Ukraine Geopolitical Conflict by Ms. Jennylyn Cabbuag.
            The Panel of Reactors was composed of Assoc. Prof. Dennis C. Coronacion, Ph.D., Mr. Patrick Dave Q. Bugarin, O.P., Ph.D., Ms. Clare Fevidal, and Mr. Frederick Prevosa.

Prof. Michael Anthony C. Vasco, Ph.D., Dean, UST Graduate School, delivered the Closing Remarks.

This inaugural webinar marked the partnership between UST and NCCU.
