UST GS Business Cluster aids PWDs in Boac, Marinduque

The UST Graduate School Business Cluster donated to the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) of Boac – managed and supervised by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWD). The donation by the Good Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility (GG-CSR) classes of Dr. Elizabeth Recio, Dr. Jose Benedicto, and Dr. Esmeraldo Dimaculangan was coursed through Ms. Suyen Chi, a UST graduate school student (M.A. in Clinical Psychology), who is concurrently the PDAO program coordinator.

Various pieces of assistive equipment for PWDs were purchased and distributed onsite by Dr. Robert Montaña, community development coordinator of the UST Graduate School, in coordination with PDAO and barangay officials.

This activity is in accord with the service-learning component of GG-CSR and the community development commitments of the UST Graduate School. Further coordination and dialogue with the Municipal Mayor of Boac Hon. Armi DC. Carrion were also made to formalize the inclusion of the PWDs and farmers of the municipality as a community development program beneficiary of UST Graduate School through a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding.
