UST bags 21 awards in 8th Student Quill Awards

UST received 21 awards in four categories/divisions of the 8th Student Quill Awards, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators, announced on February 19, 2021 on IABC Philippines website.

The Tiger Media Network team’s individual entries that received awards were:
1) #XPTMN by Isabela Beatrice Gonzales – Communication Management, Student Entry division.
2) CovidComms2020: #LifeAfterUST by Kathya Karmela de Leon – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
3)#TigerTakeover by Pia Ericka Torres – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
4) CovidComms 2020: #USTeXP: The UST Minecraft Tour by Ashley Faustine de Mesa – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
5) Behind the Roar by Micha Gayle Resubal – Social Media Programs category.

The Tiger Media Network is the official broadcasting arm of the University, operating under the supervision of the Communications Bureau. TMN produces content through Tiger TV with the use of internet protocol television (IPTV) and through Tiger Radio, the University’s e-radio airing via Mixlr.

Students from the Faculty of Arts and Letters and the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences, as well as the Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST, also reaped awards for these entries:

2) UAAP Season 82: All For More Coverage by Elijah Miguel S. Punzalan – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
3) Transgenders in sports – a call for fair rules by Faith Yuen Wei N. Ragasa – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
4) The Varsitarian – Short Videos by Mary Jazmin D. Tabuena – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
5) The Varsitarian by Eugene Dominic V. Aboy, O.P. – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
6) LENSPEAK: The Decade in Photos by Mary Jazmin D. Tabuena – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
7) Flow by Maria Gabriel H. Jopillo – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.

The Philippine Quill and the Philippine Student Quill Awards honor exemplary communication research, programs, skills, and creative work.

IABC determined the entries through its global standards that measure the brightest and the sharpest in the communication industry.
