The Laidback Paintings

On January 19, 2024, the UST Museum will host an exhibition entitled “The Laidback paintings”, featuring paintings and photographs of Orestes P. Monzon, MD and Angelito Florendo.

Florendo’s works offer a glimpse of the rural life and landscapes of his hometown. Moreover, Florendo has a reputation of painting the best kois in his town, creating a trend in the art scene.

Monzon is a doctor-art collector who turned into a visual artist who discovered a new window and a realization that medicine and art could offer opportunities for others. His first solo exhibit entitled “A Tiny Seed becomes a Lovely Tree,” which was composed of 70 paintings in celebration of his 70th birthday, likewise launched his career.

The exhibit will run until February 15, 2024.
