Starting this issue, a new section that features selected collections from the UST Museum will grace the pages of the Academia.
This section is intended to bring closer to the Thomasian community and readers of The Academia the art pieces and other collections that are not only priceless but also highly significant to the history and culture of UST. This painting won the contest held to commemorate the University of Santo Tomas’ Tricentennial in 1911, and depicts Manila Archbishop Miguel de Benavides giving instructions for the foundation of an institution of higher learning that would later become UST.
