Studies on St. Pope John Paul II’s philosophy appear in two international journals

Studies dedicated to the philosophy and theology of St. Pope John Paul II, or Karol Wojtyla, were featured in two international journals.

The studies were penned by Research Center for Theology, Religious Studies and Ethics (RCTRSE) researchers, Prof. Jove Jim S. Aguas, PhD and Asst. Prof. Blaise D. Ringor.

Aguas contributed two separate articles: “The Perfection of Powers and Integration of the Person: St. Thomas Aquinas and Karol Wojtyła on Virtue,” which synthesizes the philosophical thoughts of St. Thomas Aquinas and Karol Wojtyła on the concept of virtue. It was published in Wojtyła Studies, and “Just Society and the Culture of Peace,” which explored the foundations of a just and humane society. It was published by Ethos: Kwartalnik Instytutu Jana Pawła II KUL.

Meanwhile, the article “Divinus in Caro: Karol Wojtyła’s Ontological Personalism Between Theomorphism and Technomorphism,” penned by Ringor, was also featured in Wojtyła Studies. Ringor argued that Wojtyła’s ontological personalism provides a crucial mediation between modern reductions of the human person.

Aguas is an academic staff of Department of Philosophy, while Ringor is an academic staff of the Institute of Religion.
