Srinakharinwirot University officials meet with UST CRS officials for global internship program

Four officials from the Faculty of Physical Therapy of Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), Thailand met with academic officials of the UST College
of Rehabilitation Sciences from March 19 to 20, 2018, and visited the college and its facilities, the Apolinario Mabini Rehabilitation Center at the UST Hospital, and the Abucay Rural Health Unit in Bataan which are affiliated internship centers of CRS.

The officials also discussed their existing curricula and the Global Internship Experience (GIE) program of CRS. The first batch of UST PT students were sent to SWU for the GIE Program in August 2017. In June 2018, the first batch of SWU students are expected to arrive in UST for the
internship program.

The Srinakharinwirot group also paid a courtesy visit to the UST Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Cheryl Peralta, DrPH, and to the Office for International Relations and Programs Director Dr. Lilian Sison, Ph.D.

The SWU group was led by Faculty of Physical Therapy Dean Assoc. Prof. Rumpa Boonsinsukh. Together with her were Physical Therapy Department Head Dr. Wanvisa Panichaporn, Health Promotion Department Head Dr. Pakarang Srimee, and Physical Therapy Undergraduate Program Director Dr. Kasima Ekthuwapranee.


At the University of Santo Tomas, the Thai group was welcomed by the CRS
administrators headed by CRS Dean Assoc. Prof. Anne Marie Aseron. Also present were Asst. Dean Ma. Georgina Mojica, College Secretary Ma. Roxanne Fernandez, Physical Therapy Department Chair Jocel Regino, Physical Therapy Internship Supervisor Ms. Fe Therese Chavez, International Relations Coordinator Paulin Morato-Espino, and faculty member Ms. Kristina Devora.
