Solemnity of St. Thomas Aquinas commemorated with Triduum Masses, procession

To celebrate the life of St. Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of Catholic Schools and the University of Santo Tomas, triduum masses and a campus procession were held in his honor.

Acting Rector Rev. Fr. Richard G. Ang, O.P., was the presider in the University Mass of January 27, 2020. The campus procession on the same day was led by UST Vice Rector for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O.P.

From January 22 to 24, 2020, triduum masses were held at the Santísimo Rosario Parish Church (UST Chapel) participated in by administrative and academic units. With the theme of “St. Thomas, Devoted to Truth” for Day 1, UST Secretary-General Rev. Fr. Jesús M. Miranda, Jr., O.P. was the presider, with Prior of the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas Rev. Fr. Rodel E. Aligan, O.P., serving as homilist.

Presiding the Mass for Day 2, with the theme “St. Thomas, Patron of Students” was UST Vice Rector for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O.P., with homilist Faculty of Civil Law Regent Rev. Fr. Isidro D. Abaño, O.P.

For Day 3, “St. Thomas, Chaste Lover of God,” UST Central Seminary Rector Rev. Fr. Quirico T. Pedregosa, Jr., O.P. served as presider, while Senior High School Regent Rev. Fr. Ermito G. de Sagon, O.P., was the homilist.
