SHS inks MOA with Cultural Center of the Philippines for capacity-building

On October 28, 2022, the University, through the Senior High School, formally entered into a partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines for the implementation of the SINING SA ESKWELA Arts Training program, a capacity-building and professional development training program for the SHS Music, Arts, and Design track students. The implementors are UST SHS and CCP’s Arts Education Department.

Based on the signed Memorandum of Agreement inked by UST Rector fr. Richard G. Ang, O.P., PhD and CCP President Maria Margarita “Margie” Moran-Floirendo, CCP, the Sining sa Eskwela will be integrated into the academic offerings of the SHS, which offers the Music, Arts, and Design track and the Contemporary Philippine Art from the Regions across all strands. The support will include Sining Alamin, which involves exposure to performances and activities at CCP and curriculum-based apprenticeship; Arts Online Talk, which will feature artists and experts; and Arts Academy, which will capacitate basic education teachers.

The agreement will be in effect for an initial three years. Attending the MOA signing were UST officials led by the Rector, Senior High School Principal Mary Erika N. Bolaños, PhD, and Regent fr. Ermito G. de Sagon, O.P.
