Santísimo Rosario welcomes new Parish Priest

In a solemn rite followed by a concelebrated Eucharistic celebration on January 12, 2016 (Tuesday), Rev. Fr. Louie R. Coronel, O.P. was installed as the 14th Parish Priest of the Santísimo Rosario Parish by His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D.

Fr. Coronel, whose appointed was signed on October 5, 2015, succeeds Fr. Franklin F. Beltran, O.P., who served for six years. The appointment was read by the Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, the Very Rev. Fr. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, O.P.

In his homily, Cardinal Tagle relied on the readings about Samuel and Anna to emphasize that with God’s mercy, people’s lives can go from being barren to being blessed. He reflected that in an age when so much is expected of priests, it is only through God’s grace that they can continue their ministry. Directing his message to Fr. Coronel, the Archbishop of Manila vowed to support the former and the Parish in the exercising of their ministry.

In his message of thanks, the newly installed Parish Priest paid homage to the Lord, the patrons of the Parish and the Dominican Order, as well as the priests, nuns, and seminarians who assist him and the Parish. He likewise thanked the different lay organizations. Fr. Coronel will serve a term of three years.
