Asst. Prof. Alvin Ringgo C. Reyes, MA and Prof. Imelda P. de Castro, PhD were elected into the National Committee on Language and Translation of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, to serve a three-year term from 2020-2022.
Reyes, the Chair of the Department of Filipino, will be the Secretary, while de Castro, a Filipino faculty member and researcher of the Research Center for Culture, Arts, and the Humanities, is enjoying a second three-year term as Member of the Committee.
UST’s Department of Filipino is home to the Sentro ng Salin at Araling Salin (Center for Translation and Translation Studies) and has been working closely with the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino and National Commission for Culture and the Arts in developing the capabilities of translation scholars.
