PT alumna talks on Cervicothoracic Dysfunction treatment, approaches through Manual Therapy at UST forum


Ms. Alreen Day Alfonso, a physical therapist specializing in Orthopedic Rehabilitation at Maryland, USA, shared her expertise about the current and evidence based assessment and treatment techniques in managing patients with cervicothoracic dysfunction in a forum held on September 30, 2017 at the University. Different teaching strategies were employed by Alfonso to ensure that the
91 licensed physical therapists and 135 physical therapy
interns in the audience were updated on the current trends of
practice in the profession.


Alfonso is a former staff physical therapist of the
University of Santo Tomas Hospital – Apolinario Mabini
Rehabilitation Center (USTH-AMRC) and a graduate of the
then Institute of Physical Therapy. The forum was organized
by the Department of Physical Therapy as part of its
continuing education program for its students, graduates and
fellow professionals.
