Dr. Stephen Wong is a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and the Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy. He got his doctorate degree in medicine, cum laude, from the University of Santo Tomas and finished his Gastroenterology fellowship training from the same institution. He had further training in Clinical Hepatology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, U.S.A., under the tutelage of Professor Anna Lok, and in Interventional Hepatology at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan under Professor Shi Ming Lin. He has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented more than 30 abstracts at National and International Gastroenterology & Hepatology conferences. His major research emphases are on chronic viral hepatitis, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He was president of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines in 2017-18 and is the training officer of the Joint UST-Chinese General Hospital Hepatology Training Program. He is currently an active member of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center staff. He is an Associate Professor 2 at the University of Santo Tomas College of Medicine and Surgery.
