Mr. Daniel G. Salunga is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian with a specialization in Public Health Nutrition and Food and Nutrition Research. He graduated cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition with Culinary Arts at Manila Tytana Colleges, where he was a Metrobank Scholar. He holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health major in Nutrition at the College of Public Health – University of the Philippines Manila, as a Scholar of the Department of Science and Technology. He is a Nutrition Officer at the National Nutrition Council of the Department of Health – the highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition in the Philippines. Part-time Faculty at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the University of Santo Tomas. A fellow and ambassador of the ASEAN Responsible Conduct of Research. He represented the country in various international research conferences and training, and student exchange programs in India, Japan, Malaysia, and South Korea. His research on nutrition assessment was cited in the 2021 World Bank Publication. He is a National Reviewer for Nutritionist-Dietitian Licensure Examination and with active engagements with professional organizations on nutrition. He champions research on the improvement of data quality and strengthening nutrition action to achieve better nutritional outcomes for the country.
