ROMERO, Alexis Douglas B.

Mr. Alexis Douglas B. Romero is a reporter covering the Philippine presidency and COVID-19 pandemic policy for The Philippine Star. He started his journalism career in 2006 as a reporter for BusinessWorld, where he covered defense, House of Representatives, energy and utilities, Malacañang, and finance beats. Romero moved to The Philippine Star in 2010 and was assigned to various beats including the defense and disaster beat and election campaigns. Romero graduated magna cum laude with a degree in journalism from the University of Santo Tomas in 2006. He completed his master’s in journalism, cum laude, at the same university in 2020, making him the first graduate of the revived program. Romero teaches journalism courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and advises The Flame, the official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Arts and Letters.
