ONG, Millicent T.

Associate Professor Millicent Tan-Ong, MD, MSHI, FPCP, FPRA, CCD, RMSK, is a distinguished medical educator and practitioner, contributing significantly to the academic and healthcare landscape. Currently holding the position of Associate Professor 5 in the Department of Medicine at UST Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, she showcases her commitment to excellence in education and patient care. Dr. Tan-Ong has undertaken various administrative roles, serving as the Head of CME for the Ultrasound Skills Unit, President of the Philippine Society of Ultrasound in Clinical Medicine Inc., and Secretary of the Philippine Society for Digital Health, among others. Her scholarly and research interests encompass Rheumatology, Osteoporosis, Sarcopenia, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Health Informatics, and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Tan-Ong’s extensive education and training include a Master’s in Science in Health Informatics from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Rheumatology Subspecialty from The Cleveland Clinic, USA. She holds certifications as a Certified Clinical Densitometrist (CCD) and is registered in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonology (RMSK). Dr. Tan-Ong has received numerous awards, including the International Association for the Study of Pain Award for Excellence in Pain Research and Management. Her past positions include the presidency of the Philippine Society of Clinical Musculoskeletal Ultrasonology Inc. and chairing the Philippine Subspecialty Board of Rheumatology. As an active consultant at UST Hospital and Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Dr. Tan-Ong continues to make significant contributions to both academia and patient care.
